The Swell
As you came close,
and gazed in my amber brown eyes
I felt naked and stranded in a frozen lake of ice
My amber eyes so deep and brown,
revealing secrets knowing no bounds
I resist, hide and kill the impulse so strong,
to tame the tusnami roaring for so long
Can’t hide. Can’t escape. Can’t lie
Can’t think. Can’t pretend. Can’t hold on
The crystal balls deep and brown,
taking over the sanity I had feigned so long
Like a swell at the sea, the tears rushed,
each drop encapsulating the universe I traversed
Telling a story, I replayed time and again
Feeling the love, I craved with a familiar pain
The pursuits, the scores,
The meltdowns, the blows
All dissolved now in my pores
As the storm passed by,
the tears layered on my face,
I looked at your hazel brown gaze
Your hazel eyes so deep and brown,
revealing the secrets knowing no bounds
You resist, hide and kill the impulse so strong,
to tame the tusnami roaring for so long
Don’t hide. Don’t escape. Don’t lie
Don’t think. Don’t pretend. Don’t hold on
The crystal balls deep and brown,
taking over the sanity you feigned so long
Like a swell at the sea, the tears rushed,
each drop encapsulating the universe you traversed
Telling a story, you replayed time and again
Feeling the love, you craved with a familiar pain
The pursuits, the scores,
The meltdowns, the blows
now all dissolved in your pores
As the storm passed by, your tears layered on the face
And you looked at my amber brown gaze
The deep silence filled with riots of laughter,
the crystal balls fusing the hazels and the ambers
into the stories untold,
Into the shades unknown, into the universe unexplored
